The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) provides “free” Pre-school education to every child in Ireland.
The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) provides “free” Pre-school education to every child in Ireland when they reach 2 years and 8 months by 31st August and continues until they transfer to primary school (provided that they are not older than 5 years and 6 months at the end of the pre-school year). The school year is normally from September to June.

Rates
There is no charge to parents for the pre-school hours provided under the ECCE scheme. The State capitation fee pays the pre-school to provide these ECCE hours.
Booking Deposits
An Scoil Bheag will ask you for a booking deposit which is fully refundable once you child is registered under the ECCE scheme.
